Cal NERDS STEMinist Data Science Certificate

During spring break (Mon. March 27th - Wed., March 29th) we are hosting our Cal NERDS STEMinist data science + career prep initiative which targets UC Berkeley STEM students to gain hands-on experience with Data Science (including R coding and Tableau) and expand their professional development skills with customized 1x1 LinkedIn coaching, professional headshots, and networking.  Our partner, Data School, provides the data science modules.  During our sessions, we discuss imposter syndrome, self-concept, and strategies to empower yourself. We also layer in female data science role models who come to campus to share their stories and provide tips and insight on how to pivot into tech/STEM industry careers.  Participants earn a Data School “intro to data science” certificate after they complete our three-day experience. STEMinists are also invited to tech company off-sites, reunions, and special events on campus.
