Friday, February 16 at 11:59 p.m., is the deadline to add or drop courses. By the end of Friday, you must be enrolled in at least 12 units and at least two technical courses that fulfill requirements for your major.
Friday is also the deadline to change your grading option in technical courses that cannot fulfill any requirements for your major.
Please remember that technical courses that can be used to fulfill any requirement for your major must be taken for a letter grade. In addition to the core major courses, many COE majors include a minimum number of technical elective units or engineering units, so if the course you are taking can count toward those unit requirements for your degree, you must take it for a letter grade.
Please note that CalCentral will let you change your grading option in any class until the end of the tenth week, March 23. While COE policy states that you may change your grading option in your H/SS courses until the tenth week, you are not permitted to change your grading option in your technical courses after the end of the fifth week (Friday, February 16). If you change the grading option for any of your technical courses after Friday (2/16), the grading option will be changed back.

EYH is a conference for 5th-8th grade girls that serves to introduce them to careers in STEAM through an array of fun interactive workshops.
When: Saturday, March 17th from 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Where: University of California, Berkeley
This year we will be hosting ~450 conference attendees from surrounding East Bay communities. As an undergraduate mentor, you will assist workshop leaders, join the girls for lunch, share your STEAM experience, and act as a positive role model throughout the day. We do ask that our undergraduate mentors identify as womxn or non-binary. All are welcome to serve as general volunteers.
In addition to conference day participation, volunteers are REQUIRED to attend a training session.

Position: Summer Intern Position – 1
Job Description: The summer intern will be helping Advanced Material Testing (AMT) group on their needs. The summer intern will be involved in developing a state of the art bench top tester to test various products including devices to fix mitral regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation. The intern also will be involved in physician, engineering training and product development. In this position the intern will make and modify existing fixtures using ProE or Solidworks. This intern also might be involved in nitinol testing and will participate in performing DSC, BFR, corrosion, tensile, etc. testing under supervision of an engineer. This includes making fixtures for the test, writing test procedures and reports. The intern will collaborate with engineers and other interns on other various projects.
Position: Summer Intern Position – 2
Job Description: This position will support the research and development activities in the Advanced Materials Technology laboratory. Specific responsibility may include test method development, test fixtures and tooling design, test equipment setup and operation and data collection with careful observation and understanding of any test deviations. Solid background in materials sciences and engineering, familiarity with mechanical, corrosion and fatigue testing and equipment is desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication is required. Must be able to work independently and possess good mechanical amplitude and strong analytical capability. Graduate student in Materials Science and Engineering or Mechanical Engineering majors is preferred.
Position: Summer Intern Position – 3
Job Description: The summer intern position is in the advanced material group in R&D. The intern will be involved in the development of a tissue material property calibration methodology. He/she will be responsible for developing the testing fixture as well as performing the tests on tissues samples. This test data would be used for calibrating material model for computational modeling of cardiac tissues. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with an background in biomedical engineering or other related engineering field who is comfortable with handing test equipment like load cells etc. as well as tissue. The intern will be working in a cross functional team collaborating with other interns and engineers on related project.
