The 3D Printing Designathon is on Saturday, November 14. Free admission, free food, and awesome prizes! This year, each person of the winning team will win, among other awesome prizes, a Printrbot Simple Metal 3D printer! Teams of 3-5 members will have 24 hours to design and 3D print a solution to a prompt that will be announced at the start of the event. There will be time to form teams, so feel free to come with or without one.
The Designathon is open to everyone! Prior experience with 3D modeling or 3D printing software is not required, and any CAD software is allowed.

Description: The Institute of International Studies (IIS) Undergraduate Merit Scholarship supports undergraduate research in any area of international studies. Research may be conducted independently, in congruence with an honors thesis, or while studying abroad.
Application Details: Applicants must submit a one-page research proposal and unofficial transcript. A letter of recommendation from a GSI or faculty member must be emailed directly to email@example.com. The Student Services Fee (SSF) funding proposal submission process for new *ongoing* funding is now open. Due to the increase in Student Services Fees, there is approximately $580,000 in available funds. The minimum amount for proposals is $5,000.
All campus units that provide co-curricular student services and student groups (via ASUC and Graduate Assembly Executive Officers) are eligible to apply for ongoing funding.
All Berkeley students pay a UC system-wide Student Services Fee of $510 per semester. By UC policy, SSF revenues are designated to cover services and programs that directly benefit students and are complementary to, but not a part of, the core instructional program.
These services and programs include, but are not limited to:
- operating and capital expenses for services related to the physical and psychological health and well-being of students;
- social, recreational, and cultural activities and programs;
- services related to campus life and campus community;
- technology expenses directly related to the services; and
- career support

HOW TO APPLY – SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT
Before submitting an abstract, please review the Student Service Fee Guidelines, online abstract form, and reference materials located athttp://sa.berkeley.edu/committee-on-student-services-and-fees/funding-requests. Abstract forms should be submitted online.
Only ASUC and Graduate Assembly Executive Officers are permitted to submit SSF funding proposals on behalf of students. Students interested in putting forth a proposal should contact an Executive Officer of either the ASUC or Graduate Assembly (see http://asuc.org and https://ga.berkeley.edu/committee/executive-board/).
INFORMATION SESSIONS AND PROPOSAL WORKSHOPS
The Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Student Services and Fees (CACSSF) will hold two information sessions prior to the abstract deadline: Monday, November 16 from 4-5pm and Wednesday, December 2 from 5:30-6:30pm. Sessions will be held in the Section Club room (1st floor), Tang Center, 2222 Bancroft Way.
CACSSF will also hold a proposal assistance workgroup in late February or early March for those who have been invited to submit a full proposal.
REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS
Proposals will be reviewed by CACSSF during the spring semester; recommendations will be made by CACSSF to the Chancellor by the end of the semester.
CACSSF has a voting membership that includes nine student representatives (three each from the ASUC, Graduate Assembly and the Committee on Student Fees); six representatives from campus administration, and two Academic Senate appointed faculty members.
