The list of our faculty’s current research projects is a tour through an exciting world that spans size scales from the molecular to the global.  On these pages you can find projects that include the nanosciences and nanotechnology, MEMS & microsystems, biomechanical engineering, controls & mechatronics, automated manufacturing, engineering & biomaterials, computer mechanics, internal combustion and the dynamics and control of vehicles.

Our Mechanical Engineering Department has consistently ranked as one of the top mechanical engineering departments in the world.  Our teaching laboratories are among the most active and productive in the nation.  The work undertaken in them ranges from the most fundamental, classical issues in engineering science to the latest cutting edge applications for the world around us.  We find this to be intellectually exciting and I hope you feel the same way.
