Combustion with emphasis on fire physics, heat transfer and thermodynamics. Ignition and fire spread; smoldering and transition to flaming; spacecraft/aircraft fire safety; wildland fire propagation and fire spotting by embers and burning particles; micro-scale power generation; biofuels from wood pyrolysis.
