Course format: Two hours of lecture per week. Prerequisites: Mathematics 1A-1B; Physics 7A. A vectorial treatment of the principles of statics of particles and rigid bodies. Application to problems of equilibrium of two-dimensional and three-dimensional systems. Work and potential energy, the principle of virtual work, stability of equilibrium.
