Jong Hyun Choi is a doctoral student in Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of California - Berkeley. His research focuses on control of size and morphology of nano-particles generated from combustion process. He's currently attempting to change size and structure of soot particles by photo-fragmentation using an excimer laser.

He received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. His master's research was on development of impingement/effusion cooling system for combustor liner and/or airfoils in a gas turbine engine. He conducted heat transfer experiments using naphthalene sublimation method with heat and mass transfer analogy.
