Lydia Sohn has won the 2005 William Pyle Philips Distinguished Visitor Award from Haverford College. The award honors "distinguished scientists and statesmen" and brings them to the Haverford campus for a series of lectures and events. Recent visitors in physics (within the last 10 years or so) include Michael Tinkham, Bob Westervelt, Richard Webb, Nobel Prize winner Joseph Taylor, Steven Chu (shortly before he won his prize), Mark Ratner, George Whitesides, Charles Lieber, Joe Lyding, Michael Roukes, and Leo Kadanoff.
