Albert P. Pisano Elected to NAE

 

Albert P. Pisano, FANUC Chair of Mechanical Systems and Director, Electronics Research Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley, has been elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).

The election recognizes Professor Pisano's distinguished contributions to the design, fabrication, commercialization, and educational aspects of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).

Other members of the NAE from Mechanical Engineering at UCB are Alice Agogino, David Bogy, Iain Finnie, Werner Goldsmith, Chieh S. Hsu, George Leitmann, Antoni Oppenheim, and Chang-Lin Tien.

The Induction Ceremony for the NAE "Class of 2001" will be held Sunday afternoon, October 7, during the NAE Annual Meeting.
