ME graduate student Sadao Ota has won one of the most prestigious awards in the miniaturization sector at the recent MicroTAS 2009 Conference in Jeju, Korea.
During this conference, Sadao Ota’s poster presentation on “Generation of Monodisperse, Cell-sized and Unilamellar Vesicles from a Microfluidic T-junction” won the “Widmer Young Researcher Poster Award," out of 600 participants. Sadao performed this work during his study at Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo.
Now Sadao is pursuing his Ph.D in the ME department at UC Berkeley in Professor Xiang Zhang’s group. MicroTAS conference is one of the most important international meetings for the Lab on a Chip community. Congratulations and good job, Sadao Ota!
