This year's recipient of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Mentor Award is Professor Lisa A. Pruitt. She was recognized for her exceptional mentoring, community activism, and efforts to diversify the talent pool in materials and bioengineering.

The AAAS Mentor Award honors members of the Association who have mentored significant numbers of students from underrepresented groups.
