The Mechanical Engineering Department's Control and Mechatronics Lab has just received a donation of 30 computers from the Intel Higher Education Program. These computers will help the lab keep pace with developments in the field of control of mechanical systems.
The Control and Mechatronics Lab supports undergraduate and graduate courses that focus on various aspects of digital computation applied to the control of mechanical systems. These include application of feedback control theory, system identification, control system software design and implementation, and software design for complex mechanical systems.
This contribution, combined with a recent contribution from National Instruments, provides students using this lab with the most up-to-date environment for the application of computer-based control.
We are most grateful to Intel and to our other corporate donors for recognizing the need for corporate participation in higher education programs so that our students can be exposed to the most modern engineering |
