C.K. Hari Dharan Receives Fulbright

As a receipient of this year's Fulbright Scholar grant, ME professor C.K. Hari Dharan, director of the Berkeley Composites Laboratory, will teach overseas during the 2001-02 academic year. He will lecture on the manufacturing of composite materials at the University of Porto in Portugal.

Fulbright grants, awarded to approximately 800 U.S. professors each year, enable them to teach at a foreign university for part of the academic year.

A two-time Fulbright Scholar, Dharan founded the composites laboratory for research, design, manufacture, and testing of composites and advanced materials and developed a graduate study program that includes new courses on composites and advanced materials. Dharan is also a principal investigator in the space systems group of the Samuel L. Silver Space Sciences Laboratory.
