Carey Honored by the University at Buffalo Alumni Association

 

Professor Van P. Carey has been selected by The University at Buffalo Alumni Association as the 2001 recipient of the Clifford C. Furnas Memorial Award. It was the intent of the Mrs. Furnas that this award be presented annually to a graduate of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences or the disciplines of natural sciences and mathematics within the College of Arts and Sciences who has distinguished himself/herself in a field of science, thereby bringing honor to the University.

The citation reads:

"Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Carey is internationally known as a leader in the field of heat transfer. He has distinguished himself as an outstanding scaholar and researcher who has generated a prodigious number of papers, books and patents."
