David
Bogy Elected Fellow of
IEEE
Recognizing the achievements of its members is an important part of the mission of the IEEE. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients for one of the Institute's most prestigious honors, election to IEEE Fellow.
Effective January 1, 2001, Professor David Bogy has been elected Fellow of IEEE. The citation reads:
"For leadership and contributions to the mechanics of magnetic recording disc drives."
The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person of outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in IEEE designated fields, and who has made important individual contributions to one or more of these fields. The total number of Fellows selected in any one year does not exceed one-tenth percent of the total voting Institute membership.
