Two of Alice M. Agogino's doctoral students -- Shuang Song and Shankaran Sitarama -- were one of the winners of the NSF-funded student competition for their essay titled "Extreme Mass Customization and Personalization: A Scientific Formalism for Product Realization in a Global Manufacturing Enterprise". They received their award at the 2003 ASME Design Technical Conference in Chicago, Illinois on Sept. 4, 2003.
