Alice M. Agogino elected as a 2003 Fellow of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS).

Alice M. Agogino has been elected as a 2003 Fellow of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS). Dr. Jill Sideman, AWIS President, stated that, "AWIS Fellows represent science advocates who have, through their personal and professional achievements, and their commitment to their disciplines, advanced the role of women in science, engineering, mathematics and technology. We are extremely proud to recognize this stellar cast." The Fellows are distinguished professionals representing a wide range of academic institutions, corporations, government entities and scientific organizations.

Agogino will be recognized and honored as an AWIS Fellow during a reception on Sunday, February 16, 2003, 5:30-7:00pm at the Denver Ballroom of the Marriott City Center Hotel in Denver, CO during the 2003 AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) meeting.

The Mayor of Denver, Wellington E. Webb, will proclaim February 16th, 2003 "Women in Science Day" in honor of the 2003 Fellows for their dedication to and focus on issues concerning women in science, engineering, mathematics and technology.
