US-Japan Nanotherm Seminar: Nanoscale Thermal Science and Engineering

History...

The seminar will be the fourth one of its kind. The first one was held in Kanazawa, Japan in June 1993, the second one held in Santa Barbara, U.S.A in August 1996, and the third one in Sendai, Japan in August, 1999. All four of them have been co-sponsored of the National Science Foundation (NSF) from the US side and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from the Japanese side. The US-Japan seminars have received very positive response in the past and have had strong stimulating impact on research in the area of nanoscale thermal science and engineering. These include joint research papers, exchange of students, post-doctoral fellows and faculty, as well as use of common facilities between US and Japan.
