Me 102B Final Project!

The Problem

A common problem while skateboarding is the inability to slow down during high speeds. Many skateboarders use the soles of their shoes to create resistive friction with the ground to function as a pseudo-braking system. This, however, is relatively uncomfortable and unsafe, and subjects the rider to various instability issues.

The Solution

PowerBoard RSB 3000 (Regenerative Skateboard Brake)!! Our creation not only maintains a rider at a safe speed, but it also has the ability to regenerate and store electrical power for later use. This product can minimize skateboard injuries while at the same time, encouraging energy saving ideals.

Our Vision

Before spearheading any project, a vision must be established as an inspiration for future innovation. What our team had envisioned during the development of this project was the possibility of a student riding his/her skateboard throughout the day and then later using the stored electricity to charge up a cell phone battery or an MP3 player.
