The motivation behind the design and construction of the iWing was to improve on existing wing designs used to provide down force for performance automotive applications. The concept is that rather than keeping a static angle of attack, the iWing maximizes performance by intelligently and continuously adjusting its angle of attack to maximize down force for varying vehicle speeds.
