The purpose of the PosterRollerTM allows for even, hands-free rolling of a poster. Currently, when one purchases a poster from a store, the clerk or sales assistant rolls the poster for you by hand. This can result in uneven rolling as well as his/her fingerprints getting on the poster. To avoid these problems, we propose a device that upon the touch of a button, will catch and evenly roll a poster. The device includes a solenoid as a catching mechanism for the poster, a motorized roller that rolls the poster, a dome that guides the motion of the poster, and a photosensor that tells the device when to stop rolling. Rubberbanding and removal of the poster is done manually.
